Sds plus coupling mates right up to my cordless hammer drill and is excellent for driving copper clad steel ground rods in the field.
Ground rod hammer drill.
Drive the rod into the ground.
It only takes a minute of two to get the hang of it.
The rod just drops right out of site with water gushing into the air.
The sds max shank ground rod driver will fit a sds max drill.
You need to drive your rod all the way into the ground.
The electrical code states that it must have 8 feet 2 4 m of contact with the ground.
The sds max bits will fit all brand of sds max rotary hammers made by dewalt.
The style of the shank should match the style of the hammer chuck.
Make sure you put the drill in hammer only no rotary action and your are set to go.
Pull the drill out and just drop the ground rod in.
Please contact your local home depot or dewalt at 1 800 433 9258 for any further assistance.
Works for both 1 2 inch and 5 8 inch rods it sure beats swinging a sledge hammer.
Forcing the drill can plug the end or in some cases bend the conduit.
