You have disadvantage on picking the lock but you do get to add your proficiency bonus.

Or maybe they can do some detective work at the local tavern and roleplay out who might have a key.
But seriously you want to use locks doors and even traps when they are real annoyances like there is a time pressure ongoing fight or chase.
My players will soon begin a dungeon that i want to be locked with a magical entrance that has to be unlocked with a puzzle or riddle.
This makes the spell not the end all be all but keeps it relevant.
Basically look for another way to get past it because you can t pick it.
